The founder of a co-working space set up to serve the town’s freelancers, independents and creatives says it needs to double numbers so it can continue to operate for the rest of the year.
Co-Work Whitby opened its doors in December and has started to build a community, but, going forward needs more users as it reaches its sixth month milestone.
Jaclyn Goddard, director of Psst! Marketing Ltd, set up the scheme in space at Church House on Flowergate and is appealing for residents, remote workers, business owners and visitors to give the space a try and support a growing part of Whitby’s business community.
She said “We’ve built something really positive here — a place where people can work productively and feel part of a community. Now we need more local people to use the space regularly so we can keep it going long-term.
“If you’ve ever thought about trying coworking — even just for a day — now is the perfect time. Every booking makes a real difference.”
Co-work has WiFi, workspaces, regular social and networking event and is open seven days a week from 7am to 11pm, making it flexible to fit around work and life commitments.
In addition to workspace access, Cowork Whitby hosts regular brunches, pizza nights and informal networking events, helping to build connections among local professionals.
