We also want to promote and highlight life in Sandsend and the events, groups and organisations making up your community.
We want to provide fair, accurate and accessible local journalism, without paywalls, to help keep Sandsend informed and connected – as well as holding decision-makers to account.
From the harbour and fishing industry to tourism, local businesses, council, health, transport, schools, housing and community organisations, we are here to cover stories shaping daily life.
We believe a local news organisation should reflect the people it serves and that strong local journalism can contribute to a positive future for Sandsend.
The Anchor has been founded by journalist, Emma Ryan and photographer, Ceri Oakes.
We will be out and about in Sandsend as much as we can but would love to have a village correspondent who can keep us regularly informed about what’s happening in the village.
