Goth double weekender underway

The first of two consecutive weekends of Goth events in Whitby may have brought the black back to town but it was bathed in sunshine and blue skies.

The Gothic Gathering is diverse, fringe festival with fashion, music, literature, games, workshops and social activities.

Over four days anyone with an interest in the alternative, from Goth to Steam and Cyberpunk have immersed themselves in a subculture which Whitby has become famous for welcoming.

Next weekend the original Whitby Goth Weekend returns from Friday May 1 to Sunday May 3. It was founded in 1994 and is now one of the most famous goth events in the world.
