A carnival atmosphere has kicked off Regatta Monday with action all over the town.
The traditional fancy dress and walking parade this morning was led by pupils and families from Colebrooke Productions, in a Harry Potter themed wardrobe, along with children’s floats. The parade was led along St Ann’s Staith, Pier Road and the Khyber Pass by a parade of vintage tractors and floats.
As the procession passed by, the fun fair on the West Pier opened up for rides, games and fun and earlier this afternoon, paddleboarders took to the River Esk for the SUP event.
Boats were also away down at the rowing clubs as Friendship, Fisherman’s and Scarborough crews took on the last six races of the Regatta.
It has been a great weekend for rowing with the weather holding out each day for the races to get out.
Rowers, their friends and family will carry on the party tonight at Abbey Wharf for the prize-giving and to find out who has won the coveted Wilson Challenge Cup.
