In Pictures: Regatta Sunday fun run, pump track and dog show

Regatta Sunday started off at pace today (Sunday) with the annual fun run seeing hundreds of participants – kids and adults – take on a 2k and 4k route.
Organised by Whitby Running Club (WRC) for the last few years, the event is a firm fixture in the Regatta programme and this year saw a turnout of 250 people and a great atmosphere.
Billy Dixon, aged eight won the 2k race and Isobel Crowther, 13, won the 4k distance.

Also keen to make an impression were the town’s dandiest dogs who took part in the Scrufts Dog Show, arranged by Whitby Dog Rescue.

While the long-standing gymkhana had to be cancelled due to the tide times, Regatta Sunday saw a new event based at Whitby’s pump track.

Pump and Jump jam saw thrills and tricks from mountain bike and BMX enthusiasts with stalls from Shreds 11 and Doh Pizza.
Rowing continued as Friendship, Fisherlads and Scarborough continue to battle it out on the water for the sought after Ken Dale trophy for the club with the most points in Whitby Regatta and the Wilson Cup, handed out to the club with the most points from the Coronation Cup, Pages Races, Scarborough and Whitby Regattas.
