A businesswoman from Whitby has been nominated for a UK wide award which celebrates female entrepreneurship and business excellence.
Kathryn Morement has been nominated in the new business category at the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAS) 2026 and says it shows a side of Whitby which is about enterprise, creativity and economic growth as much as it is about maritime history and the tourism industry.
She is the co-founder and owner of Restore Compliance Limited, a building control approver.
The Enterprise Vision Awards celebrate outstanding women in business from across the UK, recognising achievements in leadership, innovation, growth and community impact. The new business category highlights entrepreneurs who have made an exceptional impact during the early stages of their business journey.
The nomination marks a significant milestone for Kathryn and her growing business, recognising her ambition, innovation and commitment to building a successful enterprise from the North Yorkshire coast.
For Kathryn, the nomination shows successful, ambitious businesses can flourish outside of major cities and metropolitan centres.
She said: “Being nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award is an incredible honour. To be recognised alongside so many inspiring women in business is something I am immensely proud of.
“As a Whitby business owner, it means a great deal to represent our town on a national platform and demonstrate that successful businesses can be built and grown right here on the Yorkshire coast.”
The Enterprise Vision Awards winners will be announced later this year.
