Festive fun is set to return to The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) in the run up to Christmas this year.

The family favourite event will take visitors on a return route between Pickering and Levisham for an hour-long journey featuring onboard entertainment by Santa and his elves; Elton Elf the musical genius, Chef Custard, Santa and Rudolf’s personal chef, and Joey Marshmallow, the trickster Elf.

There will be a Christmas gift for all children including a gingerbread man plush toy and festive book to take home as a keepsake.

Pickering Station will be home to a host of activities including a Naughty or Nice Scanner; Christmas-themed fete games; a Write and Post Your Letter to Santa station; and festive songs performed live on Platform 2.

Services run on November 28 and 29 and December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24.

The NYMR is again collaborating with Wise Owl Theatre Company to spread seasonal joy, including a new introduction to the magical experience – Gingersnap, a classic, playful festive character who features across the event. He arrives on a baking tray after having a bit of a mishap in the kitchen and throughout the show the elves will be on hand to help piece together what happened.
