It is the end of an era for hundreds of families across Whitby and the surrounding district as year 6 pupils leave primary school for the last time today.

The Anchor’s photographer, Ceri Oakes, has been on hand to capture the special moment with a supplement of class pictures as children prepare to make the next big step in their education.
