Dubbed the “farmer’s regatta” – Egton Show once again highlighted the very best of local farming, agriculture and country life.
Thousands of people filed through the show gates yesterday morning for a family day out either as exhibitors, local businesses or spectators at what was the 135th Egton Show.

Filling the showfield were vintage machines and motorcycles, horses from working agricultural to show-jumping and ponies, sheep, cattle and goats.
In the marquees were an impressive display of fur and feather from rabbits and hares, to pet guinea pigs and pigeons, as well as crafts, produce, baking, honey and photography.

There was time for shopping with an array of trade stands and a strong showing from local businesses and organisations including Andy’s Man’s Club.
Sheepdog trials drew the crowds as spectators vied for a good viewing spot before a cattle parade drew the show to a close.

In the heart of the North York Moors, thousands flock to a remote village each year for its annual show, which has its origins in the 19th century.
Rosedale Show was founded in 1871 and has been paying homage to the area’s farming, agricultural and horticultural roots ever since.
From sheep and cattle to equestrian classes, terriers and gundogs and then produce and country crafts – Rosedale has shown off village and country ways at their finest.
The show is held in the Milburn Arms Field with other fields by kind permission of the Foster family and the Brown family.
