Whimsical curiosity comes to the coast this weekend with the Whitby Steampunk Weekend.
Running from Friday to Sunday, thousands of Steampunks have flocked to the town to celebrate the alternative culture which is a mix of Victorian, industrial engineering and science fiction genres.
It makes for spectacular costumes and outfits, which Steampunk fans wear proudly throughout the weekend.
There are a number of events planned for Whitby Steampunk Weekend taking place around town, but also particularly at Whitby Pavilion.
They include free activities, presentations and demonstrations and the Steampunk Retail Emporium with a packed hall of more than 80 stalls and vendors selling clothes, jewellery and gifts.
Whitby Steampunk Weekend takes place twice a year in the town with the next one being February 2027.
