Whitby charity, WHISH, has announced a summer programme of more than 25 activities for local youngsters to enjoy over the school holidays.
FEAST is a Holiday Activities and Food programme, coordinated by North Yorkshire Together and funded by the Department for Education.
It is designed to support families during school holidays by reducing food insecurity, encouraging physical activity and helping children stay socially connected outside of term time.
This summer, WHISH will host more than 25 FEAST sessions including visits to East Barnby Outdoor Education Centre, boat trips, creative activities, games, sports and more.
Every child attending will also receive a healthy meal and nutritious snacks throughout the day, ensuring they have the energy to participate fully in activities while supporting health and wellbeing.
Free places are available for children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals, while activities are open to all families across North Yorkshire.
A spokesperson for WHISH said: “We are incredibly proud to be part of the FEAST programme and to offer over 25 sessions this summer for local children and young people. From outdoor adventures and boat trips to creative activities and games, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
“Most importantly, we are creating opportunities for children to have fun, make friends and enjoy healthy meals in a safe and welcoming environment.”
