Whitby Regatta has announced it will be holding its first fundraising gala dinner with tickets available, but they are already running out.
Plans for the dinner, being held at The Royal Hotel, are well underway. It will be on the evening of Saturday, July 25 with money raised going towards Regatta funds.
Many individuals and businesses have already bought their tickets – which cost £45 for a three-course dinner, games during the night and a disco.
There will also be a raffle and auction of promises. Some of the lots pledged already
include an Arsenal football shirt signed by Beth Mead, a holiday cottage stay in Grassington, an afternoon tea and Sunday dinner at the Fat Badger, VIP tickets to watch Whitby Town and a trip for six down Boulby Mine.

Individual tickets are available, as well as tables of 10 and 12, but they are limited to only 200 and are being sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The event starts at 6.45pm and will finish at midnight in The Royal’s ballroom – with the hotel kindly pledging a money from every ticket sold to regatta funds.

This year’s Whitby Regatta takes place from August 8 to 10.
